Holtz 90th birthday
Emma L. Holtz of Harrisville will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house today at the Harrisville Fire Hall. Her sons will host the event.
The former Emmy Lou Kiester was born Aug. 31, 1926, at “Kiester House” in Slippery Rock Township. She married the late John Holtz on June 26, 1948.
She has two sons, Martin of St. Louis and George of Slippery Rock. She also has a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Holtz was employed by Grove City Cooper-Bessemer Corp. for a number of years and was board secretary-business manager for the Slippery Rock School District for 25 years. After retirement, she was a volunteer and an employee for Medicare billing at the hospital in Grove City.
She enjoys reading, crocheting and watching baseball. She and her husband enjoyed many summer trips to Pine River, Minn., and Poulsbo, Wash. They also traveled to many other places.
