CT falls in Zone tourney

Center Township’s 12-year old Pony all-star baseball team bowed from the Zone tournament held over the weekend in Cranberry.

After opening the double-elimination tourney with a 15-5 loss to Greene County (N.Y.), Center Township stayed alive with a 15-5 victory over Kempsville (Va.).

Colin Patterson went the distance on the mound, allowing five runs on four hits. Hayden Thompson led the offense with three hits while Patterson, Brady Gavula, Noah Delano and Ryan Wick each had two hits. Cooper Baxter hit a bases-loaded triple.

The team’s run ended with a 9-8 loss to Cranberry.

Center Township rallied with seven runs over the last two innings. Carson Knight and Collin Gahagan both had two hits.

Team members included Colin Patterson, Carson Knight, Cooper Baxter, Noah Delano, Brady Gavula, Hayden Thompson, Jacob Pomykata, Ryan Wick, Collin Gahagan and Julius Collins.
