YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Jordan Macey of Mars, a Youngstown State University Student-Athlete in the softball program, was named to the 2016 Spring Horizon League Academic Honor Roll.

Students from 10 Horizon League schools were chosen for this honor based on sports participation and grade-point average.

SELINSGROVE — Quinn Burkhart of Harrisville was among a select group of students who fine-tuned their creative writing skills at Susquehanna University’s Writers Workshop in June.

During the workshop, participants worked with nationally recognized authors, attended individual conferences and participated in workshops on college writing programs, literary magazines and publishing software.

Burkhart’s work will be published in a Writers Workshop commemorative magazine.

Burkhart is in the Class of 2017 at Slippery Rock High School. She is the daughter of Patrick Burkhart and Debra Hyatt-Burkhart.
