PHILADELPHIA — Chelsea Rice of Butler recently won a renewable scholarship from the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).
Rice is a student at Pennsylvania State University in Altoona. She is a member of the Sigma Beta Delta international business honor society.
The PICPA awards scholarships to students with outstanding scholastic involvement who are majoring in accounting. Rice was recognized for her intellectual capacity, leadership potential, financial need and intent to pursue a career in accounting.

ANNVILLE — Lauren Decker and Ian Brown, both of Grove City and student-athletes at Lebanon Valley College, were named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's winter and spring academic honor roll.
Decker, a graduate of Grove City High School, is studying for a bachelor's degree in health science. She was on the women's indoor and outdoor track and field team.
Brown, also a graduate of Grove City High School, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in science and a bachelor's degree in music. He was a member of the men's indoor and outdoor track and field team.
KUTZTOWN — Shannon McChesney, who is a Kutztown University student from Valencia, was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete for the 2015-16 academic year.To earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above.McChesney has completed her freshman year at the university. She was on the women's cross country team and track and field team.She is a 2015 graduate of Mars High School.
