PITTSBURGH — The Internal Revenue Service is looking for the public’s help finding a former Cranberry Township resident and business owner who is wanted for multiple counts of tax evasion.

Valeriy Vahil, the owner of Absolut Service, a contract labor company, was indicted Oct. 14, 2014, by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on 17 counts of tax evasion, according to U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton.

The document, unsealed on June 24, 2016, named Vahil as having failed to collect and pay quarterly federal income tax and Social Security taxes for employees from April 2009 to October 2012.

Vahil also filed a false quarterly tax return.

The investigation was done by the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and was assisted by the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Labor, the Attorney General, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 81 years in prison, a fine of $4.2 million or both.
