Cranberry launches go-slow campaign
CRANBERRY TWP — The township is partnering with 23 homeowners associations to raise awareness of 25 mph speed limits.
The township’s sixth annual slow down campaign will run this coming week timed with the beginning of summer vacation for children in the Seneca Valley School District.
Yard signs and electric speed monitors reminding motorists to drive slowly will go up in the yards of the participating neighborhoods.
The township police will also increase patrols.
“It’s a program that continues to work, that continues to raise awareness of speeding in our neighborhoods and everyone just needs to wake up and pay attention,” said assistant township manager Duane McKee, who organizes the campaign.
A second slow down campaign is planned for the first week of school, Aug. 24 through Sept. 5.
The costs of the campaign are covered by the Cranberry Township Community Chest, RJ Property Management and the township.
