Assault charges filed
CRANBERRY TWP — A township man was arrested on Memorial Day after allegedly hitting his girlfriend with his car.
Ryan M. Miller, 25, faces misdemeanor simple assault and harassment charges from an alleged domestic disturbance early Monday morning.
At 12:18 a.m. police were called to a house on Sword Dance Place where the resident, Lauren Dumont, reported that Miller hit her with his car, according to court records.
She told police that she arrived at the residence with Miller and another male friend earlier in the night. When Miller and the friend decided to leave, she stood in front of his car to prevent them leaving. She told police she was concerned for their safety because they had been drinking alcohol.
After the friend refused Miller’s request to strike her with the vehicle, they changed seats and he allegedly knocked her down and placed her near the garage door before leaving.
Dumont had visible cuts and abrasions, but refused medical treatment, according to records.
Miller was arrested later that morning at his residence. He was arraigned and released on $3,000 bail.
