ALLEGHENY TWP — The family of the teenager who went missing for nearly two days last week will have a picnic Saturday to thank volunteers and emergency responders who helped search for her.

Mark Durnell, the stepfather of Lexis Walker, 15, who walked into the woods on the night of May 23 and reappeared the morning of May 25, said the event will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Six Points pavilion.

Durnell said the family will provide food and drinks. They want to host the get-together so family members can meet the people who helped them.

“It’s for our family to thank each and every person who was out here helping out, sending water, anything,” Durnell said.
