Council updated on garage
City council Tuesday night got an update on the Centre City parking garage from Joe Saeler, assistant director and manager of operations for the Community Development Corporation of Butler County.
All the steel has been erected and the concrete has been poured and sealed on the first floor. Within the next few weeks plywood will start to be set so concrete can be poured for the second floor, and the brick work will start.
Construction is one-and-a-half months ahead of schedule and is $55,000 under budget.
The 230-space garage costs $3.9 million and is part of the Centre City project by Thomas Construction. It is adjacent to a 76-room Marriott Springhill Suites hotel that is being built.
The Centre City project is being built by the city and J.S. Capitol.
