Dennis and Karen Detar

Dennis Lee and Karen Anne Detar of Renfrew will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a family dinner in the Pittsburgh area.

Detar married the former Karen Houston on April 16, 1966, in Battle Creek, Mich.

They have four children, Christina (Ron) DeLisio of Lyndora, Cindy (Paul) Smith of Renfrew, Jennifer (Ralph) Maliszewski of Butler and Dennis (Julie) Detar of Valencia. They also have five grandchildren.

Detar had a career in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Giant Eagle headquarters as a systems analyst.

Mrs. Detar worked in the civilian area of the armed services and is a domestic engineer.
