Maier 50th anniversary
Fred and Lana Maier of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at Bella Vista Restaurant on Mount Washington in Pittsburgh.
Maier married the former Lana Burwell on March 26, 1966, at the First Methodist Church in New Kensington.
They have two children, David (Brenda) Maier of Butler and Mark (Jill) Maier of Butler.
They also have two grandchildren.
Maier was a metallurgical engineer at Armco Butler Works. He also was superintendent of Plant 2. He retired after 35 years.
He has been an active golfer since his retirement in 2001. He enjoys basketball.
Mrs. Maier is a homemaker and a volunteer at the Butler Memorial Hospital Gift Shop.
The Maiers are members of First United Methodist Church in Butler. Maier has been singing in the choir for 49 years. Mrs. Maier volunteers at the church.
The couple enjoys spending time with their grandchildren.
