PITTSBURGH — A Grove City man was sentenced Thursday in federal court to two years of probation and to repay $27,000 for stealing from the government.

Alexander Viskovatoff, 57, was convicted of the theft of $27,309. From January 2011 to September 2012 Viskovatoff took Social Security Administration funds intended to be benefits for his late mother, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton.

Viskovatoff was sentenced by District Judge Cathy Bissoon.
