Woman accused of child endangerment

Lisa Marie Black of Butler Township was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday at about 11 p.m.

Black, 35, allegedly left her 8-year-old autistic son alone at her Woodbury Drive home for two hours. Police said she told them she left him alone because she was being driven to a hospital by a friend for treatment of an apparent seizure.

However, police said she told them she never went to the hospital because the seizures stopped.

According to the police complaint, the woman’s son became frightened at home during a power outage, leaving him in the dark.

Police said he called the 911 emergency center when he couldn’t reach his mother by cell phone.

The police came and eventually reached Black by calling her mother, Maureen Black of South Carolina.

According to police, about 30 minutes passed and Lisa Marie Black called her home phone to reach police, and then she soon after returned to the residence.

A preliminary hearing date has not yet been set.
