RICHLAND TWP, Allegheny County — Police were trying to determine how a woman was struck by two vehicles Monday night and killed on Route 8, about two miles south of the Butler County line.

Northern Regional police were continuing to investigate the death of 32-year-old April Powell of Gibsonia.

The woman was hit by a sport-utility vehicle then hit by a car shortly before 8 p.m. near the intersection with Bakerstown Road.

Police say the drivers of both vehicles stopped and cooperated.

It was not immediately clear whether either driver will be cited or charged.

An autopsy was scheduled for today.

Middlesex Township police assisted Northern Regional police at the scene.
