Home burns in Parker
PARKER TWP — No one was injured Monday afternoon in a house fire on Hemlock Road.
The fire broke out at 12:19 p.m. at 323 Hemlock Road when no one was home. A passer-by saw smoke coming from the home and called 911, according to Chief Jeff Pyle of the Bruin Volunteer Fire Department.
The fire started in the basement.
There is no estimate on the total damage, and the fire was still burning in the home’s walls at 2:30 p.m., according to Pyle.
Because the fire happened during the work day, eight fire departments had to be called to have enough firefighters to fight the fire.
Besides Bruin, firefighters from Petrolia, Parker, Chicora, Marion Township, West Sunbury, North Washington and Emlenton responded.
Crews went back into service shortly after 4 p.m.
