Butler boys bowlers Hunter Lefever, Shawn Marcellus and Nick Huff each qualified for the Pennsylvania Western Regional Championships after solid performances at the WPIBL Singles Championships at Family Bowlaway Wednesday.

Lefever finished eighth overall out of 124 bowlers. The senior rolled a 593 series.

Marcellus was 22nd overall and Huff qualified after finishing as the top average in WPIBL's Section 2 during the regular season.

The Tornado trio will compete with 74 bowlers at the Western Regional March 11 at North Versailles Bowl.

Lydia Roth scored 20 points and had four steals recently as the First Baptist Christian School girls basketball team defeated Jefferson County Christian, 52-28.

The game was a first-round South Western Christian Athletic Conference playoff contest.

Shelby Poorman added 11 points and 13 rebounds, Caitlyn Mueller nine points, nine assists and seven steals, Michaella Roth seven points and six rebounds.
