Ida M. Suttle
Ida M. Suttle, 73, of Bradys Bend Township, Karns City, passed away Monday afternoon at her home of natural causes, following a number of years of ill health.
Born May 12, 1942, in Butler, she was daughter of late William Edward and Elsie Emma Wyant Huff.
She and her husband Alvin owned a boarding home for the elderly and mentally challenged. Ida also worked as a private duty nurse for many homebound elderly. She also was employed by Snyder, Bonetti and Sugar Creek nursing homes.
She and her husband later owned Suttle's Inn in both Petrolia and Spangler, Pa.
Ida enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and making other treasured items for her family.
She enjoyed making hoagies and pumpkin rolls for youths at area churches in her final years and found a “new” home at the Crisswell Baptist Church in these years with the Rev. DeBacco's witness in Christianity.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alvin L. Suttle; four daughters, Ellen Bray (Jim) Snow of Emlenton, Lillian (Dar) Johnston of St. Petersburg, Mary (Dale Peiffer) Suttle of East Brady and Linda (Dave Miller) Suttle of Fenelton; her stepdaughter, Connie Dorr of Butler; her son, Richard (Lee Ann Paxton) Suttle of Karns City; her brother, Lawrence “Babe” (Gail) Everetts; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John F. Suttle; a stepdaughter, Patty Suttle; twin brother, William Huff, and stepbrothers Henry, Earl (Betty), Lloyd “Jiggs,” and Clarence Everetts.
SUTTLE — Friends of Ida M. Suttle, who died Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at funeral home with the Rev. Paul “Cutty” DeBacco of the Crisswell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Mt.
