Charles W. Risch
Charles W. Risch, 89, of Saxonburg passed away Friday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Born July 19, 1926, in Cabot, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Helen (Moser) Risch.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He was stationed on the USS Los Angeles, where he was a plank owner. During the war, he was on the China Burma International Fast Pitch Softball League, which won the championship.
He received his high school diploma in 2002 from Knoch High School, which he was very proud of. Chuck was the owner of C.L. Risch and Sons.
He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church, Saxonburg VFW, Saxonburg American Legion, Victory Lodge 694, New Castle Consistory, Syria Shrine, Saxonburg Shrine Club, Butler County Caravan, USS Los Angeles CA-135 Association and Worthington Golf League.
Chuck was also a Saxonburg Area Little League coach. He made sure every child played and everyone had a glove. Chuck was an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman. He loved camping and was an avid sports fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Dianne (Hughes) Risch, whom he married March 20, 1959; his children, Traci (Bruce) McLafferty of Cabot and John (Sallie) Risch of Saxonburg; his grandchildren, Christian McLafferty, Cayla McLafferty, Andrea (Rudy) Colaizzi and Nicholas Briney; his great-granddaughter, Kaylin Briney; his sisters-in-law, Robin Hughes of North Carolina and Mary Beth (Robert) Mangel of Springdale; and his special caregivers, Helen and Jim McLafferty.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Risch.
RISCH — Friends of Charles W. Risch, who died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cabot United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason McQueen and the Rev.
