Group sets rally Saturday to support medical cannabis
CRANBERRY TWP — The Pennsylvania Medical Cannabis Society and residents — including those suffering from diseases which could be treated with medical cannabis and their families — will rally at the Regional Learning Alliance and Conference Center from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Their focus is a medical cannabis bill that is in the state Legislature.
Scheduled speakers are:
Patrick Nightingale, the society’s executive director
Heather Shuker, mother of 12-year-old Hannah, who has intractable epilepsy
Dr. Cyril Wecht, pathologist, on the latest medical research
Brandon Genescritti, a little person who uses medical cannabis to treat his chronic pain due to renal failure
Rich and Becky Witwer, whose daughter Grace died Nov. 11 from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy
Joe McGurk, father of two girls who suffer from a catastrophic form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome
Lolly Bentch, co-founder of Campaign for Compassion, and the mother of Anna, who suffers from severe epilepsy.
