Corfield 100th birthday
Ruth Esther Watson Corfield of Evans City celebrated her 100th birthday with a family dinner on the Gateway Clipper Fleet in Pittsburgh. She also celebrated with a lunch at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City.
The former Ruth Schilling was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Forward Township.
She married the late John V. Watson on June 30, 1939, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She married the late Albert Corfield in 1988 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
She has nine children, Charles Watson of Evans City, Carol Watson Green of Evans City, the late Susan Watson Ludwik of Mars, Mary Watson Raupp of Mars, Joy Watson Nalevanko of Alstead, N.H., Debbie Watson Merrison of Evans City, John Watson Jr. of McDonald, Andrew Watson of Evans City and James Watson of Coal Center. She also has 28 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Corfield is a housewife. She is a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a member of Jephthah Chapter 73 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
