George Steere

George Steere of Butler celebrated his 90th birthday with family and friends at a recent dinner at the Rosehaven Bed and Breakfast in Butler.

Steere was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Butler. He married Norene McMillin June 19, 1948, in Bethesda, Md.

He has two children, Robert Steere of Butler and Gail Walchesky of Butler.

He also has six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Steere is a retired U.S. Navy lieutenant who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
