RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The 50th anniversary committee of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at the Vagabond Center in Lyndora at 5 p.m. today and the anniversary choir will meet at 6:30 p.m.

There will be one combined 50th anniversary worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. A potluck dinner will follow the service.

The Rev. Bruce Gascoine will facilitate the blessing of the animals at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Syndol Farm on North Road in Mount Chestnut.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will have a new dinner study at 5:30 p.m. today. Participants should take their own dinner to this first session.

The board of directors will meet following the Sunday morning worship service.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School

The Women’s Encounter Weekend at Erie Christian Fellowship Church will be Friday and Saturday. It is free.

Payments for the Oct. 17 Ladies’ Craft and Taco Bar Lunch are due Sunday. Choose a craft and pay at the Info Hub. Contact Amanda Ogle with any questions.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

At Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., the Rev. Jim Campbell, retired pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, will be the guest minister for the worship service Sunday.

The Seekers adult Sunday school class will view and discuss the documentary, “Jesus — the Missing History” at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the assembly room.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

The women’s group of First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will meet at 7 p.m. today at the church.

The AWANA children’s ministry will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

The fellowship and service committee at Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in the ladies lounge.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 15.

Confirmation is canceled for Sunday morning.

Relay For Life will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The finance committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The worship and music committee will meet at 7 p.m.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Tom Kifer and MaryAnn Mahan will provide special music for the Sunday worship service.

Adult Bible study will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Stewardship will be the focus for the next three Sunday worship services at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

To contribute juice boxes, fruit and vegetable trays, cookies and brownies for the weekly Kids Club program, sign up near the library.

OAK HILLS CHRISTIAM CHURCH

The Rev. Jim Ellsmore will be the guest minister for the Sunday worship service at Oak Hills Christian Church, at the corner of Old Plank Road and Township Line Road. He is a chalk artist who draws as he delivers his message. Take a friend or guest to the service.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have a fellowship dinner after worship Sunday.

The youth group will join other Presbyterian youth groups for a scavenger hunt in downtown Pittsburgh Sunday. The group will leave at 1:30 p.m. and return at 6 p.m. The event is open to all sixth to 12th graders. To participate, call the church.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Harvest Home will be Sunday at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. Take nonperishable items as donations for Katie’s Kitchen.

There will be a Bible study at the church at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

All are welcome to help prepare apples for apple butter at 9 a.m. Oct. 16 and to help cook the apple butter beginning at 6 a.m. Oct. 17.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will continue a series “The Celtic Way” at 9:15 a.m. Sunday in the church library.

Dinner with Friends will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Monte Cello’s, 20325 Route 19, Cranberry Township. Call Susan Moon for reservations.

The church youths will leave for the Presbytery’s Youth Scavenger Hunt after worship Sunday. There will be a lunch stop. For more information, call Stephanie Slezak.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The PM sewing ministry of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will meet at 6 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. Oct. 15.

Fit for Faith Fit for Life will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Centennial Hall. Child care is available.

Christian outreach will lead worship at Saxony Health Center at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Vote the Float will begin Sunday.

Sr Stars 55+ will leave at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for lunch at Iron Bridge and a shopping tour of Volant.

Tickets for the Oktoberfest on Oct. 17 are available from the church.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will have weekly rehearsals for the bell choir at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and for the sanctuary choir at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

ST. PAUL ROMAN CATHOLIC

There will be an anointing Mass at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., at 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be a reception afterward in the parish hall.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Faithful friends at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will meet at the church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for the Gateway Clipper event.

There will be blood pressure checks after the Saturday service and between the Sunday services.

Youths who wish to go on the scavenger hunt will meet in the youth room after Sunday school.

There will be a thanksgiving dinner to honor veterans at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

The stewardship meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler Township, will have breakfast club at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday with a free breakfast, children’s program and group discussion.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, will have Holy Communion at the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday. Youth Sunday school and adult Bible study will be at 11 a.m.
