Dunbar 65th anniversary
LaVern and Helen Dunbar of Butler celebrated 65 years of marriage with a surprise gathering at the home of Joel and Nancy Henderson.
Dunbar married the former Helen Jean Davison on Sept. 14, 1950, at Crestview Presbyterian Church in Callery.
They have four children, Diana Dunbar of Butler, Patricia Daniels of Butler, Maxine (Gary) Riemer of Cabot and Nancy (Joel) Henderson of Butler.
They also have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Dunbar retired as director of Butler County Tax Claim and Assessment. He also is a retired Metropolitan Insurance agent.
He is a member of American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, VFW Post 7505 in Mars and the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company.
Mrs. Dunbar retired from the Heckett Division of Harsco.
She is a coach for the Butler County Special Olympics.
The Dunbars are members of Summit Presbyterian Church.
