Seneca prepares for homecoming events
JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley School District is making a splash at this years homecoming with the theme “Under the Sea.”
The homecoming carnival will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday followed by the parade at 7 p.m. on the district's secondary campus.
The carnival will have food booths. Also several booster groups will run game booths like a bean bag toss, a duck pond and raffles.
The parade will feature the Seneca Valley Raider Marching Band, fire trucks and floats created by the student sports teams and student organizations. At the end of the evening there will be fireworks.
Earlier in the month seniors chose 20 of their classmates to represent them on the homecoming court.
The girls on the 2015 homecoming court are Maggie Baker, Rachel Carmella, Jakenya Clancy, Carinne Geil, Cami Herrmann, Emily Mattys, Rachel Noah, Alexa Nuzzo, Hannah Ptak and Molly Speicher. The boys on the court are Ben Bachik, Jacob Beck, Cody Boozel, Zac Cowell, Corbin Kessler, Alexander Lecce, Scotty Poepoe, Matt Pristas, Bobby Vandrak and McLean Walsh.
Seneca Valley's homecoming king and queen will be announced during the football pregame program at 7 p.m. Friday at NexTier Stadium.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m., when Seneca Valley plays North Hills.
