A woman was injured Wednesday evening when a vehicle struck her motorized scooter in Butler, city police said.

The extent of her injuries was not known. An accident report was incomplete, and police did not release the woman’s name. The driver’s name also was not available.

Police said the driver was westbound on Brady Street about 6:45 p.m. when the accident happened at the intersection with North McKean Street.

The driver told officers that the sun momentarily blinded him and he did not see the scooter crossing the road, police said.

The collision knocked the woman out of her scooter. Emergency crews found her lying on the road.

She was placed in a neck collar and taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.
