6 county voting sites are likely to change
Six Butler County polling locations likely will be changing.
The county board of elections on Wednesday will vote on whether to make the following changes to polling places:
Cranberry Township East 1 is moving to Victory Family Church at 21150 Route 19. Its former location was the Cranberry Township Fire Station.
Cranberry Township East 2 is moving to Grace Community Church at 9160 Marshall Road. The old polling place was Hope Lutheran Church.
Cranberry Township East 3 will be located at Hope Lutheran Church at 8070 Rowan Road. The former site was the Cranberry Township municipal gym.
Cranberry Township West 5 now will be located at the Cranberry Township municipal gym at 2525 Rochester Road. The former location was St. Ferdinand Church.
Marion Township will move to Epiphany Church Hall at 141 Middendorf St. The old polling place was the Marion Township Fire Hall.
Oakland Township will move to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church at 200 Faith Way, Fared Drive. The old site was the Oakland Township Municipal Building.
Shari Brewer, director of elections, said that all of the moves in Cranberry came as a result of having to shuffle the voting districts due to St. Ferdinand Church no longer wanting to host the Cranberry West 5 polling place.
In Marion, Brewer said the location was receiving complaints from poll workers regarding a lack of heating early in the day. In Oakland, she said the township secretary used to be a poll worker, giving workers access in the morning. Now, she is not, Brewer said. She said Faith Fellowship Church was the most convenient, willing location available.
