Chicora pastor, wife hurt in crash in Ohio

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Chicora pastor and his wife were injured Monday afternoon in a vehicle crash in northern Ohio.

The Rev. Jerry Pyle and his wife, Sandy, were involved in a crash while driving to the Cleveland Clinic about 1:30 p.m. They were traveling there for unspecified treatment for Pyle.

Pyle has been the associate pastor of the Chicora Missionary Alliance Church since 2013. Before that, he and his wife ministered at several churches in the state.

Representatives from police in Cleveland did not return a call for additional information on the crash. It was not known how many vehicles were involved in the crash or on what road it took place.

The Rev. Mark Wallace, church pastor, said he believes the couple were taken to the MetroHealth Medical Center. He said he had heard that Jerry Pyle was stable this morning, but still in the ICU. Sandy Pyle reportedly suffered a few fractures.

The hospital did not return a call this morning for an update on the Pyles’ conditions.
