Wilson passes leadership programHARRISBURG — The Center for Excellence in County Leadership, a professional development program of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, said that Amy Wilson, Butler County chief clerk and director of administration, has graduated from the program as part of the center’s inaugural class.The training focuses on interactive and classroom training aimed at improving participants’ communication, management and leadership skills. It included classes in styles of leadership, managerial versatility, interpersonal dynamics, crisis communication, media management, and other areas.Wilson of Center Township has been chief clerk since 2012.

Shareholders OK Office Depot dealNEW YORK — Office Depot shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favor of the company’s $6.3 billion acquisition by one-time rival Staples.The deal, announced in February, is part of a rapid consolidation in the office supply sector that has been hammered by technological changes in the workplace and by competition from Amazon.com and other online retailers.

Bottom line• EMLENTON — The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton has pledged $50,000 to the Clarion County YMCA’s capital campaign. The money will help pay for the construction of the new full-service YMCA facility in Clarion.
