Good Scout Awards presented at reception
PENN TWP — The Moraine Trails Council of the Boy Scouts presented its 2015 Butler County Good Scout Awards on Thursday night to retired orthopedic surgeon Dr. Barry Hootman and to Care Chiropractic Center.
They were honored at the Good Scout Award reception, which raises funds for scouting programs. The event was at Conley Resort.
Hootman was honored for his continued community support. He and his wife, Sue, believe scouting is a good way to help the development of children throughout Butler County, and they consistently give of their time to benefit youth.
Honored as Good Scout Company of the Year was Care Chiropractic, with Dr. Stuart Surkosky, director.
Care Chiropractic on Evans City Road is a promoter of scouts because it believes scouting provides young men and women with a way to do more for themselves and for the community.
The reception was organized by Cranberry Township businessman Mike Hall and Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe.
