Road closures, restrictions set for Jeep Parade
The Jeep Parade, which will try to break the Guinness world record, will take place at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Registered Jeeps will begin staging for the parade at 11 a.m. at Butler County Community College.
In Butler Township, roads near the college will be heavily congested between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Access to Route 8 will be restricted from Littman, Cooledge and Decatur Roads beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Traffic lane restrictions will be in place on Route 8 northbound between Decatur Drive and the Picklegate Bridge.
Regular traffic will use the left lane while Jeeps will use the right lane. All non-Jeep traffic will be detoured across the Picklegate Bridge to Hansen Avenue.
Once the parade has ended, traffic will be permitted to travel to downtown Butler.
In downtown, Main Street will be closed to traffic from noon until 10 p.m. Washington and McKean Streets will be used to detour traffic around downtown.
