Highways will close for repair projects
The state Department of Transportation announced that work will begin Monday on three more road projects in Butler County.
Interstate 79
PennDOT said there will be lane restrictions on I-79 in Allegheny and Butler counties beginning Monday night.
The overnight lane restrictions will occur on I-79 in both directions between Exit 73 to Wexford and Exit 78 to the Route 228 interchange in Cranberry Township.
Crews from Lindy Paving will begin pavement marking and delineation updates.
Work will be completed by June 30.
Route 422
A section of Route 422 in Summitt Township will close for 15-minute periods Monday night so crews can set beams on the bridge carrying the road over Bonnie Brook.
The road between Bonniebrook Road and Carbon Center Road will have periods of closure beginning at 6 p.m.
PennDOT said the work should be done by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
This is part of a project to replace the bridge carrying Route 422 over Bonnie Brook. The $2.7 million project is being done by the Mekis Construction Co. and is expected to be finished by the end of October.
Route 308
Work will begin at 7 a.m. on Route 308 between Route 8 and the Clay Township Line in Center Township.
Single lane closures will be in place between Route 8 and Mack Road for paving. This project includes road patching, drainage upgrades and paving of three state routes in the county.
This $2.6 million project is being done by Lindy Paving Inc. and is expected to be completed by the end of September.
