Beaver man gets 2 to 4 years

He pleaded guilty to felony charges

One of three Beaver County men arrested this past fall in an undercover drug bust at the Cranberry Square Mall will spend two to four years in prison.

Keith Johnson, 20, pleaded guilty to felony counts of conspiracy to deliver drugs and a firearms violation, and he was sentenced Thursday by Butler County Judge William Shaffer.

According to court records, police seized heroin and handguns when they arrested Johnson and codefendants Dominique D. Haley and Naythen A. Hightower on Nov. 30.

The investigation by the Butler County Drug Task Force began with a police informant, who allegedly set up a heroin buy from Haley, 19, of Aliquippa. The informant reportedly agreed to pay $200 for 20 bags of heroin.

The informant, with officers secretly watching nearby, met Haley, who drove to the mall parking lot in a car accompanied by the other two men.

Following the drug deal at the car, task force officers arrested all three occupants.

Also in the car, investigators found $2,065, 43 stamp bags of suspected heroin and a loaded .40-caliber Taurus pistol on the driver’s side floor, a loaded Lorcin .380-caliber pistol on the floor of Johnson’s seat and a Kahr Arms .40-caliber pistol — reportedly stolen — on the floor of Hightower’s seat.

According to court records, both of Johnson’s codefendants are to be sentenced June 11. According to court records, Haley pleaded guilty to a drug violation and a firearms violation. Hightower pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and conspiracy.
