PERRY TWP, Lawrence County — A 15-year-old boy died Friday evening after falling into the Connoquenessing Creek near Ellwood City.

State police said the boy, who they did not identify, fell into the creek along River Road, just south of Route 488, about 6:50 p.m.

Police said the teen, who was with a 14-year-old friend, was unable to make it back to shore.

Emergency crews pulled his body from the creek at about 8:30 p.m., a short distance from where he fell into the water.

Police are still investigating the incident.
