McLafferty 60th anniversary
James and Helen McLafferty of Saxonburg will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family dinner.
McLafferty married the former Helen Fischer on May 14, 1955, in Winchester, Va.
They have two children, Bruce (Traci) McLafferty of Cabot and Sharon McLafferty of Redondo Beach, Calif.
They also have two grandchildren.
The McLaffertys are members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Saxonburg.
McLafferty worked for Penn Dixie Cement and retired from Du-Co Ceramics. He drives a van for W.L. Roenigk.
He is very active with his church, known for helping anyone in need and loves children. He was an ambulance driver for Saxonburg
Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoys golf with his son and grandson in the Worthington Golf League. He was an ASA umpire for girls softball with his son and grandson and loves spending time with his family.Mrs. McLafferty was a mushroom mine picker and retired from South Butler School District cafeterias at Jefferson and Saxonburg elementary schools.She is a caregiver to many and a baby sitter. She also is active in her church. She loves spending time with her family and helping them any way she can.
