Wolf, first lady licensed to fish

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s governor and first lady are licensed to fish after a stop at an outdoors show in Harrisburg.

Gov. Tom Wolf and his wife Frances toured the Great American Outdoor Show on Friday.

The nine-day exhibition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg is produced by the National Rifle Association.

Organizers say attendance is up this year and expected to be near 200,000. The governor and his wife each paid for their own licenses.

District apologizes for erotic puzzles

MONESSEN — A school district superintendent apologized after confirming five students were mistakenly handed word search puzzles based on the erotic movie “Fifty Shades of Grey” along with other worksheets.

Monessen Schools Superintendent Leanne Spazak said Thursday the puzzles were “mistakenly and unknowingly” put in a stack of work sheets.

Spazak didn’t say how that happened, or whether any employees were disciplined as a result. Only the five students and a staff member were present when the incident happened. One student kept a copy, however, and posted it on social media, which prompted complaints and media inquiries.

Bed bug scare closes campus

PITTSBURGH — The Community College of Allegheny County closed a campus for the second time this month after a student reported having bed bugs at home. Friday’s closure affected the Allegheny Campus on Pittsburgh’s North Side. On Feb. 4, the school closed its North Campus in McCandless.

Both closures were prompted by student reports of bed bugs at home, not in campus buildings.

The school hired a pest control firm to inspect the Allegheny Campus, which was expected to reopen Saturday.
