BC3 to expand 4-year degree program
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College will expand its baccalaureate degree programs.
A baccalaureate program allows students to complete four-year degrees in partnership with BC3 and four-year colleges without leaving the BC3 campus.
The school has two partnership degree programs at its main campus: social work at Youngstown State University and administration of justice at the University of Pittsburgh; and two degrees at its Lawrence Crossing satellite campus: psychology at LaRoche College and early childhood development at Edinboro University.
Details about new partner schools and the programs will be announced in February, said Bill O’Brien, vice president for continuing education, following a BC3 trustees meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Also next month, BC3 trustees and the BC3 Education Foundation will meet in executive session to continue discussions about building campus housing.
Officials had a feasibility study done last year to consider whether to build an on-campus housing complex with up to 200 beds.
