Woman seeks GOP nod for Clarion commissioner

CLARION — Edie Quinn has announced that she will run for Clarion County commissioner in the May 19 Republican primary.

“I would like the chance to do what I can to help make a better Clarion County for the future,” Quinn said.

She said commissioners should be open with the public, and that meeting agendas should be posted, budget information should be easy to obtain and the county website should be updated often.

Quinn said commissioners need to work to bring businesses to the county. She also questioned the $300,000 being used to renovate the county courthouse, saying that other public buildings in the county need help too.

She has worked in accounts payable for Pepsi, was a night auditor for Holiday Inn and was an administrative assistant and tipstaff for Allegheny County courts. She has served as a Republican committee secretary and committeewoman.

Quinn lives in Clarion Township with her husband, Duane.
