Winifred J. 'Winnie' Neubert
Winifred J. “Winnie” Neubert, 88, formerly of South Buffalo Township, passed away Tuesday in the Pleasant Ridge Mature Nursing Home, Allegheny Township.
She was born on May 17, 1926, in the Clinton area of South Buffalo Township, to the late Howard H. and Adna Campbell Jack.
Winnie was a lifelong resident of the Freeport-South Buffalo area.
Mrs. Neubert worked at the former Joseph S. Finch Co., Schenley Distillery in human resources until the closing of the company. She then worked as a receptionist at Lindsay and Lutz, LLC, Butler, until she retired in 1992.
Winnie was a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church, Clinton, where she was an elder of many years, taught Sunday school classes and ran the church festival for many years. She was on the South Buffalo Planning Commission and belonged to the Tarentum Book Club, where she never read any books.
Winnie was well-known as a volunteer and also well-known for volunteering many of her family members in various events. She was very active with the Four Corners Unit of the American Cancer Society. Winnie was one of the founding members of the Annual Fashion Show Committee, which still operates the Fashion Show annually. At the fashion show, “Winnie's Windfalls” continues to operate as a successful fundraiser. From its inception, she always had a team at the Relay For Life at Apollo-Ridge High School track. When Winnie wasn't volunteering, she enjoyed skiing, boating and reading.
Winnie is survived by her sister, Joan Wintgens, and her brother, Roger P. Jack, both of Clinton, South Buffalo Township, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. “Nouch” Neubert, on June 17, 2000, and her two brothers, Howard R. and Phillip E. Jack.

DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, where funeral ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Robert Hindman officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in McVille Union Cemetery, South Buffalo.The family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Western Region, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205-4620.
