NEW WILMINGTON, Lawrence County — Torey DeAngelis recently received a National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship at Westminster College.

DeAngelis is a senior mathematics major. She is a daughter of Lyn DeAngelis of Lyndora and a graduate of Butler High School.

Students at Penn Christian Academy recently collected more than 500 items to donate to the Lighthouse Foundation food bank.

The third grade class of Mrs. Gillis was honored for collecting the most canned goods.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The 2014-2015 James Regal Aviation Scholarship was awarded to Felicia Sova of Beaver Falls. She is a student at the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC).

The annual scholarship is in memory of James Regal, a Slippery Rock High School, CCBC and Slippery Rock University graduate, who was killed in a 2005 airplane crash.

The scholarship is awarded through the aviation department at CCBC.
