Jamison advances to final 4
Chris Jamison of the North Hills is a top-four finalist on NBC’s “The Voice.”
Viewer votes and having two top 10 songs on iTunes contributed to his advancement into the last round of the show. Three of the finalists were announced Tuesday night.
Jamison grew up in Ross Township, Allegheny County, but his parents, Michelle and Bryan, are Butler natives.
He has numerous family members — including aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents — living in Butler County. They gather weekly at John’s Bar near Evans City to watch him perform.
Jamison has advanced through auditions and five weeks of live eliminations on the show. He is taking off from attending Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the show.
This week, he performed the Bruno Mars song “When I Was Your Man” and Maroon 5’s “Sugar.”
Tuesday night’s wild card episode gave eliminated contestants the opportunity to return to the show and join the top three in the finale.
The top three contestants, which included Jamison, automatically advanced to the final round of the competition. The eliminated contestants competed against each other for the wild card fourth spot going into the finale.
This coming Monday, the final four artists will sing duets with their celebrity mentors. Jamison’s is Adam Levine, frontman of Maroon 5.
The show airs at 8 p.m. Mondays and 9 p.m. Tuesdays on NBC.
