County residents will not face property tax increase
Butler County residents will not face a property tax hike for 2015.
County Commissioner Bill McCarrier, board chairman, said no official has mentioned the prospect of a millage increase.
Chief county clerk Amy Wilson confirmed Tuesday the proposed 2015 county budget, which was to be presented in detail at the commissioners meeting this morning, keeps the tax rate the same as this year’s.
“I don’t anticipate a tax hike,” Wilson said in an interview.
The current tax rate is 24.6 mills. Of that total, 3.9 mills is dedicated to debt service.
The commissioners are scheduled to adopt the 2015 budget on Dec. 31.
