New $84,000 welcome sign coming to BC3
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College soon will have a new $84,000 welcome sign at the school’s main entrance on Decatur Drive.
BC3 trustees Wednesday approved Sterling Contracting LLC of Duquesne to do the work. The sign will be built in the spring and should be finished by the end of this school year.
Model images of the sign show a steel plate donated by AK Steel with the school’s name engraved on the sign.
The sign will be illuminated, include a stone foundation and may have a fence attached to it to open and close to campus traffic as needed.
Nick Neupauer, BC3 president, said the sign is among several capital projects to be completed in the master plan.
The sign should be finished in time for the school’s 50th anniversary celebrations in the spring.
