SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — The Slippery Rock School Board reorganized Monday.

Board members re-elected Polly Shaw as president and elected Mark Taylor as vice president.

Shaw has been on the board since 2009 and was first elected president in 2013. Taylor has been on the board since 2012. This was his first time being named vice president, replacing Greg Angerett.

The board has nine members.

BUTLER TWP — The Butler School Board voted for a new board president and vice president Tuesday night.David Korn and Al Vavro, both new to the board this year, will serve as president and vice president, respectively.Korn replaces Don Pringle, who has been president for the past three years. Pringle nominated Korn for the position.Pringle said the role as president is stressful, and he noted that he has worked with three superintendents during his term.Carmen Bianco, who was vice president, nominated Vavro.Bianco's and Pringle's terms end next year.Bill Halle also was nominated for president and vice president, but he lost in 5-4 votes.
