Russell and Loretta Slater

Loretta and Russell Slater of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage in the social hall of St. John’s Reformed Church in Butler. One hundred family members and friends enjoyed a buffet lunch and a video of the couple’s years together.

Slater married the former Loretta Gerner on July 24, 1964, at Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker.

They have two children, Karen Slater of Butler and Debra Stanfield of Hagerstown, Md.

They also have two grandsons.

Slater retired from Armco and works part time for Advanced Auto Parts.

Mrs. Slater is a loving homemaker.

The couple enjoys spending time with their grandchildren and traveling with the Buco Travel Trailer Club.

The Slaters are members of St. John’s Reformed Church.
