Gas price plunge welcome
Unleaded gasoline is selling for $2.99 a gallon Monday at a number of area gas stations.
Regular gasoline has gone under the $3 a gallon price at a number of service stations in the Butler area.
The last time gas was that low was four years ago in November 2010. Just in July, gas was $3.81 a gallon.
The lower prices will make driving for the Thanksgiving holiday next week less expensive than a year ago.
From Thanksgiving through the following Sunday, American motorists will save more than $650 million on gasoline versus what they spent last Thanksgiving, according to GasBuddy.com.
