Shirley and George Winger

George V. and Shirley L. Winger of Harmony, both formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., celebrated 50 years of marriage with a trip to Gulf Shores, Ala., and a family dinner at Shakespeare's Restaurant in Ellwood City.

Winger married the former Shirley Loercher on Nov. 7, 1964, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church in Niagara Falls. They were honored by Pope Paul VI with a papal blessing in 1965.

They have three children, Gregory Winger of Odenton, Md., Brian (Denise) Winger of Youngstown, N.Y., and Heather (Erik) Raithel of Wexford.

They also have seven grandchildren.

The Wingers are retired.

Winger worked in sales and management positions in the automotive parts and tire industry and traveled in the United States and Canada.

Mrs. Winger was a homemaker and later was a receptionist and collections specialist for 15 years at the Herr-Voss Corporation in Callery.
