Mellish 100th birthday
Paul Mellish of East Brady celebrated his 100th birthday with about 250 family members and friends at a reception given by Sugar Creek Township firemen and his family at the Sugarcreek Township fire hall.
He was born Oct. 16, 1914, on the family farm in Sugarcreek Township. He married the former Flora McClure and they have been married 76 years.
He has three children, Barbara (Ronald) Jack of Cowansville, Paula (Alan) Claypoole of Meadville and David (Marge) Mellish of West Virginia.
He has many grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Mellish was a charter member and a founder of Sugarcreek Township Fire Company. He was a coal miner for 47 years and was a mine electrical inspector when he retired.
He worked as an electrician until he was 85.
