Julie Kasunic of Butler attended the Commissioner’s Honor Camp this past summer because she was named the Troop D Honor Cadet for the girls at Camp Cadet at Camp Lutherlyn the year before.
Camp Cadet is a weeklong program organized by the Troop D Pennsylvania State Police.
At the Commissioner’s Honor Camp in August, 46 cadets from different counties got a glimpse into the life of a Pennsylvania State Police Cadet in training at the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in Hershey.
The students experienced physical training; discussions about the core values of honor, service, integrity, respect, trust, courage and duty; water safety; emergency automotive maintenance; and personal self-defense.
