Mildred Anne Wilson

Mildred Anne Wilson

Mildred Anne Wilson, 68, of Grove City, formerly of Boyers, was taken to be with her Lord on Monday after a long struggle with COPD.

You might know her as Millie, Mil, Millipede, Mrs. Clause to a handful of kids at the USIS Christmas parties, Bub (affectionately, of course), Meemaw or “the Meem” to her grandkids. She had many names to the thousands (seemingly millions) of people whose lives hers intersected with. You couldn't take Meem anywhere without running into at least a dozen people who all practically ran up to her, excitedly shouting “Millie!” followed by a monstrous hug.

She had the same effect on every person she met. No one else on this Earth was made to impart happiness like Meem. She was born to be a grandmother, and she was the best at it. She was everyone's Meem. She gave the warmest hugs, had the most infectious laugh, smiled the widest and gave the most “I love you's” of anyone you've ever known. If you ever had the privilege of paying a visit to Meem's house, you completely understand. Her chairs were as comfy as her company. Her hospitality was as warm as her heart.

Her pride for her family was beyond inspiring. That was as plain as anything. All you have to do is look at her pictures, which filled her walls to the brim. You would swear her life was a movie titled “My Family” and she was the supporting actress. Every sport, play, concert, graduation, birthday, Christmas, vacation, everything — it was all documented proudly, often framed, all over her walls, on cabinets and tables, and filling albums.

If her walls could talk, we don't have to speculate what they would say. They said it as big and bold as anything: I love my family more than anything in the world. Her family was far more than just those who had the blessing of being related to her, though. It included the vast numbers of her friends and coworkers upon whom she also poured out her seemingly endless love.

Mildred Anne Craig Wilson was born to the late Charles Edward Craig Sr. and Dorothy Geraldine Shankle Craig.

Surviving are her husband, the love of her life, Jefferson Lee Wilson, affectionately known as “Pap,” at home; her son, David Lee Craig and Christina of Tidioute; and her daughter, Gwen Anne Kildoo and her husband, Michael, of Grove City. Also surviving are her grandchildren, who brought her such joy, Stephen Phillip Craig, Jacob Michael Kildoo, Noah Paul Kildoo, Melissa Elizabeth Craig, Matthew David Craig, Darrion Ryan Craig and adopted grandson, Joseph Ligato.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Albert McConnell, and her brother, Charles Edward Craig Jr.
