Rotary's PARC picnic draws crowd
The Rich-Mar Rotary had its annual PARC picnic for the Butler County ARC on Aug. 13 in Butler Memorial Park.
This is the 42nd year for the picnic, which is one of the club's service projects.
Amy Smith, who oversees public relations for the club, said about 150 ARC members and their families attended. “I thought it was very well attended,” Smith said.
She said there was great weather, great energy and a lot of smiles. Guests dined on hot dogs and corn on the cob. They also played bingo, and everyone walked away with at least two prizes.
“The prizes are always a big hit,” Smith said.
She said about 20 to 25 club members and their families volunteered at the picnic. The club has about 60 members.
ARC provides services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including residential, vocational and career programs and opportunities.
